The Detroit Lions added more depth to the running back position over Memorial Day weekend. Lions and Matt Asiata reach a year agreement and waive fullback Michael Burton to make room on the roster. Matt Asiata split time with Jerick McKinnon in an attempt to supplement the loss of Adrian Peterson. In Matt’s career as a Viking, he compiled 1,259 yards on 361 carries and 18 touchdowns. His best year coming in 2014 when he ran for 570 yards and 9 touchdowns. Asiata will more than likely be a fourth option at running back and possibly used as a power back in short yardage situations.
